The Daughter of Dawn, Oklahoma Movie

The Daughter of Dawn is a movie filmed in the Wichita Mountains in 1920. For years it was thought to be lost but then it was found and restored. It stars over 300 Kiowa and Comanche Native Americans with the beautiful Wichita Mountains as the setting.

Here’s a story about the movie by Darrell Franklin and the Oklahoma Historical Society.

I enjoy hiking the Wichita Mountains and I’m glad this movie is still here for us to enjoy. I’m not sure if it’s still available on Netflix, but at one time it was and that’s where I saw it.
