There are many places to see Buffalo in Oklahoma. I’m going to share my three favorite.

First, the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Area. It’s a wide open area where you can often see plenty of buffalo and other wildlife just by driving through the refuge.

Second is the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. I enjoy going here the most in the spring when you have a chance to see the baby buffalo.

Another area closer to the OKC Metro is behind the Lucky Star Casino in Concho, just north of El Reno on HWY 81. I took this picture there a couple of winters ago.

Just remember to give these beautiful animals lots of space. Always be considerate and always be safe.
